Herodotus and Geography
‘Father of History’ the great Herodotus one of the most prominent contributor of geography. He explained the history in geographical way. He was the first one who believed the concept ‘all history treated geographically and all geography treated historically’. He was one of the great traveler at his period, he travelled lots of places explained various Island and Continents through his concept. Nile River and its origin and way and its impact was firstly explained by him. He was the first scholar who tried to draw the meridian line on World map. He has navigated the Black Sea and tried to focus on it in different angles. He was the first one who demanded that Caspian Sea is an Inland Island. Out of these he explained the depositional process of river and formation of delta and meander.
