Father of Geography
Geography is a subject which discussed about the surface of the Earth. The word geography comes from Greek word 'Geographia' that means'Earth description'. Eratosthenes was the first one who used the term Geography. He is called founder of Geography. According to development of the concept of Geography, Eratosthenes is known as father of ancient geography. He has lots of contribution in geography as like calculation of the tilt of Earth's axis, distances between Earth and Sun, leap day etc.
But, Alexander Von Humboldt and Carl Ritter both are called father of modern geography. They both introduce the methods of the study of Geography.
